Associate Professor Andrii Gozhyk was born into a family of teachers on December 14, 1962 in the urban-type settlement of Hoshcha, Rivne Oblast. He graduated from the Faculty of Geology, Taras Shevchenko State University of Kyiv, in 1984.

In June 1994, Andrii Gozhyk defended his Candidate of Sciences dissertation “Physical Characteristics of Granitoids in the Inhul Region of the Ukrainian Shield and Their Use for Paleogeodynamic Analysis and Metallogenic Prospecting” (specialty – 04.00.12 – Geophysical Methods of Mineral Discovery and Exploration).

From 1984 till 2001, he was a member of the Scientific Research Department, holding the positions of an engineer, research assistant, researcher, research associate; head of the Scientific Research Laboratory of Physicochemical Research of Minerals at the Faculty of Geology.

In 2000, Andrii Gozhyk became a member of the faculty, the Department of Mineralogy, Geochemistry, Petrography: Assistant Professor (2001), Associate Professor (2004 – 2021). He was awarded the academic rank of Associate Professor in 2007.

November 2004–May 2007 – Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Geology.

June 2007 – Head of the Sector and Deputy Director of the Scientific and Methodological Center for Organizing the Academic Process at the University. December 2012 – May 2021 – Director of this Center. 2015 – Deputy Head of the Scientific and Methodological Council at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

2004–2015 – Member of the Scientific and Methodological Committee in Geology at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. 2016–2021 – Coordinator of the Sector of Higher Education in the Scientific and Methodological Committee at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Author of over 80 academic publications.

Honored Educator of Ukraine (2019).

Associate Professor Andrii Gozhyk is the co-author of the Strategic Plan for the Development of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Package of Measures for Improving the Quality of Education at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Ukraine. He is a member of the working groups for the development of regulations on qualifications and higher education.

He is married. His wife is a hydrogeologist, teaching disciplines in the field of Earth Science. Daughter Iryna (born in 1985) – PhD in Applied Physics, a research engineer in the Laboratory “Surfaces du Verre et Interfaces”.
